Local Author Invites Families to Discover Golf-Inspired Adventures with Lizbeth, the Little Lost Golf Ball in Horsham Events
Horsham, PA – February 2026 — Local author Janice Nissen is inviting families, young readers, and golf enthusiasts to join her for two special events in Horsham featuring her debut children’s book, Lizbeth, the Little Lost Golf Ball — a heartwarming and colorful story about a bright pink golf ball who discovers that even a “lost ball” can find her way home.
Nissen will first appear at the Horsham Library Read Local Author Showcase on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM ET, where she will read from Lizbeth, the Little Lost Golf Ball and share how the book grew from her own time on the golf course. She will discuss the story’s themes of perseverance, friendship, and fun on the greens, and will be available to meet readers and sign books.
Families can also tee up for fun at a First Tees event at Skramble House of Golf, located at 420 Babylon Road in Horsham, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET. At this interactive event, Nissen will read the book, talk with children about Lizbeth’s adventures, and help introduce young readers to the magic of golf — a game full of surprises, friendships, and life lessons.

After retiring from a successful career in biopharmaceuticals, Nissen picked up her golf clubs and found more than just a new hobby. One day, after losing (and unexpectedly finding) a ball near a pond, she wondered what that little ball had been through — and Lizbeth was born. Lizbeth, the Little Lost Golf Ball follows Lizbeth as she learns about golf and life from whimsical characters like Delilah Driver, Putter Pete, and Genji Gator, all while discovering courage, kindness, and the power of never giving up.
PGA Professional Kevin Duffy shares his enthusiasm for the story, noting that Lizbeth’s adventures remind children that golf is not just about hitting balls, but about discovery, perseverance, and having fun along the way. With its cheerful artwork and uplifting message, the book is ideal for children ages 3–8 and for parents and grandparents who want to inspire kids to play outside, try something new, and believe in themselves — one swing at a time.
Books will be available for purchase and signing at both the Horsham Library and Skramble House of Golf events.
